Jeb has seen the courtroom from every angle. As a prosecutor in Clayton County, Georgia, he tried and won cases against murderers, drug traffickers, and armed robbers. With the Public Defender's office in Athens, Georgia, he successfully tried a case on behalf an accused man who could not afford to hire a lawyer. As a law clerk in Brunswick, Georgia, he worked closely with a federal judge, helping her to issue rulings and try cases. As a summer associate in Atlanta, Georgia, he worked with a well known civil defense firm. Now, as a plaintiffs' lawyer, Jeb devotes his practice to representing individuals who have been hurt or wronged by the misconduct of others.
Jeb was born and attended high school in Columbus, Georgia. He went to college at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was voted into student government, wrote for the school paper, and graduated cum laude. After college, he attended Stanford University's Graduate School of Business Summer Institute in Palo Alto, California, then worked for a Congressman on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. He attended law school at the University of Georgia School of Law, where he excelled: Jeb graduated magna cum laude in the top 10% of his class, wrote for the Law Review, reached the national quarterfinals of the National Moot Court Competition, reached the semifinals of the J. Melvin England Mock Trial Competition, earned a scholarship, and was inducted into multiple honor societies. During law school and in the years that immediately followed, Jeb worked as a prosecutor, public defender, law clerk, civil defense lawyer, and plaintiffs' lawyer.
