John C. Morrison III
Buddy has lived in the Middle Georgia area since he was five years old. After graduating from Pike County High School in Zebulon, Georgia, Buddy went to Mercer University for his undergraduate education. There, he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Political Science. At Mercer, Buddy was a captain of the "Binary Bears" computer programming team that has won multiple championships and excelled in a number of programming competitions around the world. Upon finishing his undergraduate studies, Buddy decided to stay in Macon to attend the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University on a full scholarship. He graduated magna cum laude with a certificate in Advanced Legal Writing. Buddy received multiple scholastic honors, including membership on the Mercer Law Review and five "CALI" awards for excellence in particular classes.
Buddy has worked with Butler, Wooten & Fryhofer, LLP, as an associate since graduating law school in 2006. He is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Columbus Bar Association, the Columbus Bar Association Younger Lawyers Division, the Columbus, Georgia Inn of Court, the Chattahoochee Bar Association, the Columbus Trial Lawyers Association, and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. He has contributed to a scholarly article for the Mercer Law Review each year since 2007, and he contributes regular articles to the firm's blog. An avid sports fan, Buddy serves his community by serving on the Columbus State University Athletic Fund Board
