Alcohol-Related Car Accidents

Holding Drunk Drivers and Bars Responsible for Death and Injury Caused by Alcohol-Related Traffic Accidents

Despite the lowering of the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) limit from .10 to .08 and increased enforcement of DUI laws, innocent victims continue to be injured and killed in alcohol-related car accidents in Georgia and across the country.

If you were injured or a loved one was killed by a drunk driver, you deserve compensation. Unfortunately, drunk drivers often have little or no insurance available to compensate for your medical expenses, loss of income, pain, suffering, and other damages. In cases of wrongful death, there may not be enough coverage to pay for the funeral, let alone compensate the surviving family members for the loss of their loved one.

Contact us online or call us toll free at 1.800.242.2962 to schedule a free consultation with a personal injury and wrongful death lawyer. Our nationally recognized attorneys have obtained many millions of dollars for our clients in personal injury and wrongful death verdicts and settlements.

At Butler, Wooten & Fryhofer, we provide compassionate, yet aggressive, representation to victims of alcohol-related car accidents. Our firm knows how to hold drunk drivers responsible for their carelessness. We know how to recover benefits from the injured person's own uninsured or underinsured motorist insurance coverage, when available.

Dram Shop and Liquor Liability Claims in Drunk Driving Accidents

We also know how to seek additional compensation from irresponsible bar owners who serve alcohol to intoxicated customers. Georgia's Dram Shop Act provides that a bar, tavern, restaurant or other business that sells alcohol may be responsible for injuries caused by a drunk driver, if they

Knowingly sell, furnish or serve alcoholic beverages to a person who is in a noticeable state of intoxication, knowing that such person will soon be driving a motor vehicle.

You may be entitled to recover damages against a business or person that served or sold alcohol to the drunk driver who caused your accident. Your ability to recover damages depends on the facts of your case. Our firm has successfully litigated and settled several dram shop cases.

Recovering for Serious Injuries Caused by Drunk Driving Accidents

Alcohol-related car accidents are usually serious. Drunk drivers cause head-on collisions when they cross the median or get on the highway going the wrong way. They knock down pedestrians who are crossing the street at intersections. Their vehicles roll over and injure passengers when they run off the road.

These serious accidents cause needless death and catastrophic, life-changing injuries, including brain injuries, back and neck injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputation, broken bones and serious burns.

Please contact us if you or your loved one has been injured because of drunk driving to see if there is a possibility of recovering damages from the business or person who served the alcohol consumed by the drunk driver. We will investigate every possible source of compensation for serious injuries and deaths caused by alcohol-related car accidents.
