Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect

Seeking Justice for Victims of Elder Abuse and Nursing Home Malpractice

Senior citizens and disabled persons deserve compassionate and competent care when they are no longer able to care for themselves. Unfortunately, too many nursing home and elder care facilities are more interested in profits than their residents' safety and well-being.

Was your parent, grandparent or other family member injured in a nursing home or assisting living facility? By exposing nursing home abuse or neglect, you may help prevent other residents from suffering the same treatment. Bringing a claim for injuries or death caused by mistreatment, abuse, or neglect can also help you recover compensation to pay for the medical expenses and other losses suffered by your loved one.

Contact us online or call us toll free at 1.800.242.2962 to discuss how we can help you recover for nursing home abuse or neglect.

At Butler, Wooten & Fryhofer, our attorneys have significant experience representing nursing home residents and their families. We know how to hold nursing homes responsible for personal injuries and wrongful death caused by inadequate care, medication errors, understaffing, failing to monitor residents, and other negligence and nursing home abuse.

Nursing homes and assisted living facilities have a duty to provide proper care and service to patients. Nursing homes are not only responsible for the medical care that they provide to their patients, but also for the day-to-day supervision that their patients require. Injuries often caused by nursing home abuse include:

  • Infections and Bed Sores - caused by failure to monitor a patient's skin, failure to reposition or move a resident who is in a wheelchair or bedridden, failure to treat bed sores which become infected, and unsanitary condition and inadequate infection control measures
  • Broken Bones - and other injuries caused by failure to assess a resident's risk for falling and failure to take fall prevention measures
  • Malnutrition and Dehydration - caused by failure to monitor a patient's food and water intake, failure to notify a physician when a resident is not eating or drinking
  • Unexplained Bruising - or other injuries caused by physical abuse, assault, or sexual abuse by staff or other residents
  • Restraints and Overuse of Drugs - injuries caused by improper use of physical restraints, medication overdose, and other medication errors

If you suspect that someone you love was injured because of nursing home abuse or neglect, please contact our Georgia law firm today. Our lawyers will fully investigate the medical care and supervision provided to your family member. In cases of nursing home malpractice, we fight to recover full compensation and take measures to protect other residents from abuse and neglect.
