This case was settled for more than $4.1 million the day before his trial was specially set to start against approximately 20 asbestos manufacturers and distributors including insulation contractors. Plaintiff was prepared to prove that the defendants had known prior to plaintiff's exposure that asbestos caused various diseases, including mesothelioma and that these companies had failed to protect or warn plaintiff and other workers about the danger of working with asbestos.
