Aging Baby Boomers Not The Car Accident Threat Once Predicted

As the nation ages, many people predicted that more elderly drivers would mean more accidents on highways, byways and neighborhood streets throughout Georgia and across the United States. However, new information from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) indicates that drivers 70 years old and older are safer drivers than their predecessors, causing less serious crashes and less serious injuries.

Are Cars And Drivers Getting Safer?

Motor vehicle accidents no longer lead the list of serious accidents that cause spinal cord trauma in the United States. Are auto manufacturers doing a better job of making cars safer? Are our Georgia drivers doing a better job behind the wheel, resulting in fewer serious or fatal car accidents?

Liability Warnings For Rideshare Users

In the wake of the wrongful death lawsuit filed against Uber, questions about who is ultimately financially responsible for the damages caused by a motor vehicle accident potentially involving a ride-share vehicle. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has been working to plow and salt roadways and remove fallen debris, but it cautions drivers to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary while cleanup continues.

Uber Sued After Fatal Crosswalk Crash

A downloadable app connects you to a fleet of drivers in the Atlanta area who will pick you up and drop you off for a fee that is charged to your credit card. According to Yelp, Atlanta-area users have had reported positive experiences with the hybrid of a taxi and car rental service.

Log Truck Driver Blamed For January Pileup, Serious Injuries

A wall of fog and a log truck driver who didn't respond properly to the limited visibility it caused on the interstate were blamed for a chain-reaction crash that left at least one man with serious injuries. The log-truck driver side-swiped a semi before rear-ending a Subaru and dragging the SUV 180 feet down the interstate. The Subaru reportedly rolled several times as it was pushed around by the logging truck.
